Can laminate flooring be installed in kitchens and bathrooms?
With the 2021 building code for E3/AS1 rules for wet and splash areas, your laminate floor must meet specific criteria in bathrooms and kitchens to pass consent.
We have a wide range of kitchen and bathroom laminate flooring and hybrid flooring to choose from that meet the E3/AS1 rules, and we can provide you with all the documentation you need to support any consent applications for your new home or renovation project.
Can laminate flooring be installed over tiles?
Laminate floors can be laid over existing vinyl, concrete, chipboard, ply and even tiles - any flat and dry subfloor. This makes laminate floor installation a great solution for home renovation improvements as laminate flooring can hide any unsightly subfloors with a beautiful flooring surface that's both modern and stylish.
Do laminate floors need underlay?
Our laminate flooring is installed with underlay, which cushions the planks and hides minor imperfections in the subfloor surface to help create a better installation finish. We have two underlay solutions for you to select with your floor - standard or noise reduction.
